Albemarle, Australia’s largest producer and manufacturer of lithium, is on a quest to discover the skilled workforce of tomorrow to help expand and run the world leading Kemerton Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant, near Bunbury.

Albemarle will be a key exhibitor at the Perth SkillsWest Careers & Employment Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27-29 July, and will be promoting hundreds of direct jobs and over a thousand in construction to help deliver the recently approved Kemerton Expansion Project.

Albemarle HR Director Kristy Carter said Albemarle was determined to tackle skills shortages head on and to bolster the company’s workforce through direct employment and support of major contractors.

“The expo provides an ideal platform to meet and connect with prospective candidates who are interested in supporting Albemarle’s and the South West’s pivotal role in the global transition to clean energy,” Ms Carter said.

“The expo is an opportunity for students, parents, teachers, graduates and job seekers who are looking for future training or work prospects, to learn more about our company, contractors and the exciting career pathways we offer.”

Ms Carter said that Albemarle was interested in a range of people at various stages of their career development.

“We are interested in those people just starting out, as well as those ready to pivot in a new or different direction,” she said.

“We are especially excited to have the opportunity to promote our Apprenticeship and Graduate Programs, designed to provide real world resource industry training and career development as part of the huge expansion of our Kemerton plant – Australia’s largest and most advanced lithium processing facility.”
